A New Way to Explore the Timeless City of Varanasi
The city of Varanasi, one of the world’s oldest living cities, has now embraced a new symbol of progress — the Kashi Ropeway, India’s first urban public transport cable car system. Blending tradition with innovation, the ropeway not only eases access to the heart of Varanasi but also offers a panoramic view of the spiritual capital like never before.
Whether you're a pilgrim, tourist, or local, the Kashi Ropeway is transforming how we experience the city.
The Kashi Ropeway is a state-of-the-art cable car system launched in Varanasi to help passengers bypass the city’s congested roads. Starting from Varanasi Cantt Railway Station, the ropeway travels to Godowlia Chowk, with future stations planned en route such as Rath Yatra and Church Crossing.
This aerial transport glides over the dense lanes of Kashi, offering a smooth, quick, and scenic commute to key spiritual and commercial areas.
